Have you ever decided to do something new and then immediately felt an upsetting and nauseating pain in the pit of your stomach. Have you ever been so fearful about moving forward that you stood stuck in the mud of inaction.
You know what it is….it’s called FEAR.
Everyone experiences fear. It’s a part of life. The question becomes…how do you handle fear.
If not handled properly, fear can mentally and sometimes physically cripple you and keep you from your goals and dreams. Below are seven ways to outsmart fear and start turning everything around in your favor. They are:
Focus On What You Want. This is basic Law of Attraction. You bring about what you think about. Fear is exaggerated when you focus on what you don’t want. When you focus on what you want you are actually sending out energy that will attract the people, resources and experiences that will help you reach your goals and manifest your desires.
Get Clear and Be “Sold Out”. Fear is mostly about not knowing what is on the other side. It’s important to get very clear on your goals and why the goal is important to you. This will help you get “Sold Out”. Being “sold out” means that there is nothing that will keep you from your goal. It’s about being 100% committed. Here’s where faith and belief come into play. Stand on that faith even when you don’t know exactly how your going to it. Decide that your commitment is non-negotiable. Decide to never give up!
Embrace the Fear. It’s time for some fearful bravery. I know this may seem like a oxymoron but there is great wisdom in this one. So many people have set up their world so that they never have to face and feel their fears. In this, they never grow because they stay inside of their little box…their cushy and warm comfort zone. Instead of hiding out, open up and feel the fear. 9 times out of 10, you’ll realize that it really isn’t as scary as you thought.
Use Success Tools. There are many websites, CDs, videos, seminars, webinars, and training calls that you can use to help you develop your skills and reawaken your belief system. Personal development builds mental and emotional muscle. They more your grow yourself, the more confidence you will have in your own abilities. Confidence destroys doubt and fear.
Join a Mastermind Group. Surround yourself with positive, successful and goal-oriented people. When you connect with people who are like-minded, you create an incubator of success for yourself. You don’t want to be the smartest cookie in the jar when it comes to your mastermind group. Choose people that dream big, have great vision and demonstrate courage in their actions. When you combine your energy with the energy of the people in your mastermind group, you create a synergy of success that fear won’t be able to penetrate.
Stick to Simple Disciplines. Success is a few simple disciplines practiced every day. Figure out which daily activities give you the biggest bang for your buck and make those your daily simple disciplines.. These activities are ones that you want to spend the most time on. When you form the practice of doing your simple disciplines, success becomes the order of the day and this leaves no room for fear to enter into the equation.
Stay in a State of Gratitude. When you focus on all the things you are grateful for fear cannot survive. Make it a practice to write what you are grateful for in a gratitude journal or at least spend a few minutes each day thinking about all that you are grateful for. This is another one of those “what you think about you bring about” deals. Focus on what you are grateful for and more things to be grateful for will arrive in your life.
Decide to implement these tips into your daily life and soon your courage, mental and emotional muscles will be so strong that your previously held worst fears will become your greatest and proudest accomplishments.
